This e-book is intended as an to the butterflies that can be found in Western Australia. This book only contains some examples of species to be found in this family. About 100 species are represented in Western Australia with about 390 species in the whole of the Australian mainland. The species illustrated are a selection of those that one could be expected to find with ease. It is the hope of the author that this e–book will add to the enjoyment of those travelling in Western Australia and will enable identification of the genera and species in the butterfly family and will awaken an interest in general in butterflies in Western Australia.

All photographs in this e-book are original and have been taken in the wild by the author.
The photographs are in colour and are best viewed with a colour e-reader. Photographs will be seen at their best in Landscape view. For ideal display of text adjustment of the tablet page layout (in options) may be necessary.
The relationship between the blue butterflies and ants and mimicry between species to avoid predation is described in the book.
The book includes a complete check list of species to be found in Western Australia.
