This booklet started as a history of a set of circa 1880 tea towel
patterns with kitten designs. When researching the
originals I found a childrens book that the 1880 needleworkers
took six of their designs from. I also found some wonderful
circa 1850s lithographs that used some of the same designs.
and some others I had never seen before. So then I made
patterns from some of those to go with the original patterns.
Since I was adding more patterns to the booklet
I decided to add some of my favorite cat patterns traced
from antique quilt blocks. It snowballed from there
with a few more patterns traced and adapted from Victorian
sources. They can be used in many crafts such as stenciling, quilting, painting and embroidery
