If you are looking for a travel guide, this is not the book for you. Jean and her husband, John, are not typical travelers. Believing that they finally understood the life and customs of the Spaniards, they returned two more times. Be warned! They still managed to get into situations with unexpected outcomes. And, along the way, they made life-long friends.
In the last part of the book, having “conquered” the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula, the couple ventures to Portugal. They need to grapple with a new language, and a much different environment than what they anticipated.
