"On the Road to Thailand"
Note: this is almost a 600 page edition...goodness! Our Accounting Guru (Mr. Charles) is very thankful that we passed on the original notion to pay Emil per page...
What was Emil thinking???
Must be more brain fog or some other plague induced mental decline in Emil's already fragile mind...
The story goes way back to long before most of you were born and it started with our unexpected need to flee Nanjing (Nanking) on the last lorry due to the uninvited arrival of the Imperial Nippon Army - which lead to our memorial and very incredible adventure(s) to reach the Burmese Border only a step or two ahead of the Japs and this series of events landed our entire crew up in the back booth of a little, rusty social club (what dive bars were referred to in those days) watching the slow pace of Old Siam pass us by.
Emil and I have had a great fondness for Thailand that diverges greatly from the current generation of a cadre of penniless backpackers and more importantly, to their older near-pedophile uncles who have so successfully destroyed the image of the honorable expat by their ugly behaviors - which crumbled the Thai People’s openness to all of us Foreign Devils (that we so treasured back in the 1930s).
While this book has nothing to do with either, I just wanted to clear the air...
SEINE

“IN MEMORY OF PRINCIPAL SUTTIPONG CHALOEYPOJANA"
To the one person who had faith that there was good within each of us and was prepared to pester and dig until he found it…He never gave up on any of us no matter however hopeless we were to salvation.
If I had only taken the time to learn a little of what he taught us (some of the most valuable lessons that I failed to learn)…but, then again, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today…
I know that there will be a heated debate in which, it might be better that we don't get into here and now.
Guess it all depends…???
Do I owe you money or not?

PLEASE BUY THIS BOOK!
Help me stick it to the man (Mister Chuckie) and win one for all of us, the forgotten peons who don’t have
a hundred bucks to buy a car!
Needless to say you are already vested in this cause...you are already a part of the Revolutionary Cadre for Artistic Freedom to be able to afford a decent meal or pay the overdue water bill...
Whatz?!?
You say you are not!
You bought this book didn’t ya????
Under Singapore Labor Law, that makes you an active co-conspirator...
Indeed, it does Comrade Book Buyer!

“Do you (really) know the way to San Jose?”
I’ve been away, for quite some time…
I’m afraid that I done got lost!
-Emil
