The Nickel Plate Road actual name the New York Chicago & St. Louis Railroad was a Midwest Buffalo, New York to Chicago mainline. It was a western connection for the Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad. On April 17, 1963 the Nickel Plate was merged into the N&W.
