Get Paid To Act No Matter Where You Live
![Jese Leos](https://indexdiscoveries.com/author/cason-cox.jpg)
Acting is an incredible art form that allows individuals to express themselves creatively and captivate audiences through their performances. It has the power to transport people into different worlds, evoke emotions, and inspire change. For many, acting is not just a passion but a dream career that they would love to pursue.
However, breaking into the acting industry can be challenging, especially for those who do not live in major entertainment hubs such as Los Angeles or New York. Opportunities for aspiring actors can seem limited if they are not located in these popular cities. But fear not! There is a way to get paid to act no matter where you live.
Thanks to the internet and advancements in technology, the world of acting has opened up to a global audience. Numerous online platforms and production companies are offering opportunities for actors to showcase their talent and get paid for their performances.

One such platform is The Virtual Stage, an online theater company that connects actors with audiences worldwide. They produce and stream live theatrical performances, allowing actors to perform from the comfort of their own homes. It's like a virtual stage that transcends geographical boundaries.
So how does it work? Actors can audition for roles through The Virtual Stage's website. Once selected, they receive scripts and rehearsal materials to prepare for the performance. The rehearsals are conducted online, allowing actors to collaborate with directors and fellow cast members regardless of their physical locations.
On the day of the performance, the actors connect to the streaming platform and deliver their lines to the virtual audience. The audience members can watch the show from anywhere in the world, as long as they have an internet connection. This innovative approach to theater not only provides opportunities for actors but also makes theater accessible to a wider audience.
But what about the pay? The Virtual Stage believes in fair compensation for actors and pays them for their performances. The amount varies depending on the role, production, and other factors, but actors can expect to be paid for their time and talent. This allows aspiring actors to pursue their passion while also earning an income, regardless of their location.
Another platform that offers opportunities for actors outside of traditional film and theater is Voice Acting. With the rise of animation, video games, audiobooks, and other mediums, voice acting has become a popular and lucrative field. Voice actors bring characters to life solely through their voices, making it a unique and challenging art form.
Voice Acting connects voice actors with clients in need of their talent. Actors can create and upload their voice demos, showcasing their range and abilities. Clients can then browse through the database and hire voice actors for their projects. This platform allows actors from all over the world to showcase their skills and get paid for their voice acting work.
The rise of social media and video-sharing platforms has also created opportunities for actors to gain exposure and build their online presence. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube have become breeding grounds for viral videos and internet stardom. Many actors have gained significant followings by showcasing their acting skills through short videos or web series.
Actors can monetize their online presence through brand sponsorships, product placements, and even crowdfunding campaigns. With a large enough following, actors can earn a considerable income while building their acting careers from the comfort of their own homes.
So, if you've always dreamt of being an actor but worry about the limitations of your location, fear not! The world of acting has expanded beyond physical boundaries. With online platforms like The Virtual Stage, Voice Acting, and the power of social media, you can get paid to act no matter where you live. Embrace the digital age and take advantage of these opportunities to showcase your talent, connect with audiences worldwide, and turn your passion into a rewarding career.
Don't let geography hold you back from pursuing your dreams. Break free from the traditional constraints of the acting industry and embrace the exciting possibilities that the digital world has to offer. Get paid to act, create memorable performances, and let your talent shine!

This book is a practical guide to working as an actor without moving to Hollywood. It was written for the tens of thousands of actors living all over country (and world!) who dream of being paid as a professional actor and fall into two basic categories:
1. Actors who are building experience and reel before making the big move to L.A. Both experience and reel are easier to get in smaller markets, as you will see in the book.
2. Actors who have decided to live where they are because they enjoy their quality of life or in order to maintain their commitments to family or their jobs. These actors are content to pick up acting jobs when they come along.
This book is not meant to be an attack on Hollywood (in spite of the title!) But there is a misconception that the only place an actor can get paid for his craft is in this one city—Hollywood. In these days of inexpensive digital technology and “runaway production” that shoots all over the world, that paradigm no longer holds.
Part One of this book tells you how to find jobs and get hired as a professional actor anywhere in the country. Part Two tells you how to do a good job in the role, once you are hired. And Part Three is called “The Work”. Think of it as a class for actors, in print, that gives you an idea of the way you learn from the give and take of a teacher and your fellow students as well as providing you with some proven exercises and guidance on what to look for (and what to avoid) when you look for an acting class.
About the author:

In 1994, after living and working in Los Angeles for more than 25 years, Scott moved to Hawai`i with his wife, Jeanne, in order to raise their (soon to be) two children in a safe and sane environment. Scott is a 30+ year member of Actors Equity Association, AFTRA and the Screen Actors Guild, where he sits on the National Board of Directors and serves on the National SAG Conservatory Committee. He's taught acting to hundreds of actors, in classes all over the world. He has auditioned more than 15,000 actors for various productions and his students appear on TV, Film, & on Broadway, daily.
