As they pedaled through South Africa, they encountered breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cultures, and the warmth of the locals who welcomed them with open arms. Eager to explore more, they journeyed through Namibia, known for its stunning deserts and rugged coastlines. The vast expanse of the Namib Desert challenged their endurance, but their determination never wavered.

Into the Heart of Africa

Leaving Namibia behind, Jo and Gareth entered the uncharted territories of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Riding through the wild beauty of the Okavango Delta, they marveled at the abundance of wildlife and witnessed some of nature's most incredible spectacles.

Zimbabwe beckoned with its rich history and breathtaking landscapes, and they couldn't resist the chance to explore the ancient ruins of Great Zimbabwe. The sheer magnificence of these UNESCO World Heritage Sites left them in awe, reminding them of the incredible civilizations that once thrived in this land.

Conquering East Africa

As they ventured further north, the transition from Southern to East Africa brought new challenges. The rugged roads and remote landscapes of Tanzania and Kenya tested their physical strength and mental resilience. Yet, as they weaved their way through rolling savannahs and encountered diverse wildlife, including majestic elephants and graceful giraffes, their determination only grew stronger.

In Uganda, they navigated through lush rainforests and the captivating beauty of Lake Victoria. The diversity of this region surprised them at every turn, introducing them to new cultures and traditions that enriched their journey.

The Middle East and Europe Await

As Jo and Gareth reached Sudan, their adventure took a new turn as they experienced the hospitality of the Sudanese people and tackled the harsh desert conditions. The challenge of the Sahara Desert and the allure of ancient historical sites motivated them as they eagerly continued towards Egypt and the iconic pyramids.

From Egypt, they boarded a ferry to cross the Mediterranean, entering Europe through Greece. The landscape and culture changed once again, as they made their way through the Balkans, Italy, and France. Countless scenic routes, picturesque towns, and the warm embrace of the European countries greeted them as they gradually neared the final stretch of their epic journey.

Arriving in London

Months of pedaling, pushing their limits, and immersing themselves in the beauty of the world finally led Jo and Gareth Morgan to their ultimate destination - London. The iconic city welcomed them with cheers and applause as they celebrated their incredible achievement.

Their journey had come full circle, but the impact they left in their wake extended far beyond their personal accomplishment. They inspired others to dream bigger, push boundaries, and explore the world from a different perspective. Their ride brought attention to the cause they supported, raising funds for charities and making a positive difference in the lives of many.

An Inspiration to All

The story of Jo and Gareth Morgan's epic ride from Cape Town to London serves as a reminder that with determination, passion, and a sense of adventure, anything is possible. It is a testament to the human spirit, the power of resilience, and the joy of discovering new horizons.

Through their journey, they showed us that there is a world beyond our comfort zones and that the most rewarding experiences often lie just beyond them. Their story continues to inspire countless individuals to embark on their own adventures and create their own stories.

From the contrasts of Cape Town to the litter drifts of Libya, Joanne and Gareth Morgan and their team of World by Bikers rode 20,000 kilometers by motorcycle. They rode over rough roads and smooth, through rich nations and poor, past ruins ancient and modern, and loved every minute of it. They saw a true zebra crossing (along with several thousand of its mates). They were charged by elephants (and charged double by Egyptians). They had a gander at Uganda (and a wander in Rwanda). They dodged guerillas (and hung out with gorillas). They were in for a shock (or four) on Kenya’s road to hell…

Join the World by Bikers on their unforgettable four-month traverse of Africa. Hold on tight and brace yourself for one hell of a ride: part road-trip, part expedition to discover the truth inside the appeal envelopes of the international aid industry.
