The Magic Dagger

The Magic Dagger is a spy story of the Second World War but it starts in 1648.

Anthony is determined to join his father who is fighting with the Cavaliers in Maidstone. Cromwell’s Roundhead army outnumber them, and during the battle Anthony’s father is wounded. In the village of Boxley, Anthony finds a Cavalier soldier who is dying and the man begs Anthony to bury him with his much-loved dagger. When Anthony holds the dagger he is swept forward in time to 1940, where he finds himself in the middle of another war.

England is threatened by a German invasion. Anthony meets Sylvia, Sam and Ben who have moved to Maidstone with their parents to escape the London bombing. They suspect that a spy has landed, but no-one believes them.

Can they foil the spy’s plans and will Anthony ever get back to his own time?
