The 11th International Conference Diagrams 2020, scheduled to take place in Tallinn, Estonia from August 24-28, 2020, is set to be a gathering of creative minds from various fields. With a focus on visual representation and its power in communication and problem-solving, this event promises to unlock new potentials and insights into the world of diagrams.

The conference aims to explore the diverse applications of diagrams across disciplines such as computer science, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, art, and beyond. By bringing together professionals, researchers, practitioners, and enthusiasts, Diagrams 2020 seeks to foster interdisciplinary discussions and collaborations that can propel advancements and innovations in our ever-evolving visual world.

The Power of Visual Representation

For centuries, humans have been using visual representation in various forms to communicate and understand complex ideas. Diagrams, in particular, have proven to be a powerful tool for conveying information, organizing thoughts, and solving problems. Whether it's a flowchart, a Venn diagram, a mind map, or a network analysis diagram, these visual aids have the capacity to simplify complicated concepts and make them more accessible to a wide range of audiences.

Research has shown that the human brain processes visual information much faster and more effectively than text alone. By leveraging the power of diagrams, we can enhance our ability to grasp complex ideas, make connections between disparate concepts, and identify patterns or trends that may not be readily apparent in textual form.

Unleashing Innovation through Collaboration

One of the key goals of Diagrams 2020 is to encourage collaboration between different disciplines. By facilitating an environment where experts from various fields can come together, share their insights, and learn from one another, this conference aims to foster innovation and push the boundaries of what is possible in visual representation.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend a wide range of presentations, workshops, and discussions led by renowned experts in the field. These sessions will delve into topics such as the cognitive science of diagrams, diagrammatic knowledge representation, diagram aesthetics, diagram tool development, and many others. Through these interactions, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the current state of diagrammatic research and explore new avenues for application.

Highlights of Diagrams 2020

The conference will feature an exciting lineup of keynote speakers who are pioneers in using diagrams to advance their respective fields. These thought leaders will share their insights and experiences, providing attendees with inspiration and food for thought. Conference participants will have the opportunity to engage in Q&A sessions and delve deeper into the minds of these visionaries.

In addition to the keynote presentations, Diagrams 2020 will include interactive workshops and paper sessions where researchers can present their latest findings and receive feedback from fellow experts. This collaborative atmosphere aims to promote ongoing discussions and exchange of ideas, ultimately driving the field of diagrammatic research forward.
